i haven't done it at my new place yet, wait! i don't cook.... maybe i should check my alarms and make sure they still work....

Only once so far while cooking, but I did once AND set the smoke alarm off AND burned part of my kitchen down, because a toaster by accident got switched on by a down-sliding cabinet door and overheated. Luckily I had just bought a fire extinguisher, and we managed to stop the fire soon....

My mother rest her soul could make the alarm go off with out even cooking

Every time I cook something in the oven- because something spilled in the bottom of the oven -so when I open the door to put the food in (or get it out) I make the alarm go off.LOL

*Well the smoke alarm is 'disabled' , guess that gives you a good clue as to how often I was making it go off* The funny thing is my H thinks I was doing it on purpose*

Oh man!!! I used to do it so much that my b/f took a course and now he's the one that cooks.
Come to think of it . . . Burning all those pork chops was a damn smart move!!!

i don't think ours works b/c we had caught our stove on fire the other day and the damn thing never went off...guess its time to call the maintenance guy at the apartment
