Specific stuff, or just stuff in general to free up room?

If stuff in general, start by going into My Computer and riight clicking on the hard drive (C:). Go into Properties and click the "Disk Cleanup: button. That will remove temporary, Internet and other unneeded files to free up some space. (Usually not a lot)

Move, your music off the hard drive and on to CDs or DVD. Same with any videos, pictures, and other tyes of data documents you have on it.

Then go into the Control Panel and Click the Add/Remove Programs icon. You will see a listing of the all the programs currently on your PC. Uninstall any you can live without.

Finally, go back into the My Computer, right click again on the hard drive (C:) and go to the Tools tab. Click on the "Defrag Now" button to defrag your hard drive. After deleting a lot of files from it, yoiou should always defrag to allow Windows to move the remaining files around so that your PC will run faster and be less likely to corrupt a file.

If it is something specific you want to delete (like your Internet history) then edit the question with more details...

Insert your windows xp disk into hard drive (or whatever other one you are using) and it gives you step by step instructions---and there is ways to keep the tracking system disabled if you break into the tower itself----just deleting programs does not mean they are truly gone u must format first and trying to delete things that won't delete is a safe guard usually cause they are a system file

Well, Forensic Computing means that it would be really hard to really destroy data as part of it is destroyed and the rest will still be there and forensic software can get it back.

To delete normal files left click on it (Don't enter it) then right click and click delete then empty your recycle bin.
