i got everything loose, but the crankcase pressure valve(in the back of the valve cover)hits the top of the firewall before it clears the valves...what gives?

i cant get it to clear the rockers before it will come off....the crankcase pressure valve(???) hits the top of the firewall before it clears. what gives?

slide it forward and then up. It'll come out. Or even twist it off to one side like opening a book then slide it out.

It means you're going to have to drop the engine a tad, or take the engine out completely.

Engines aren't assembled inside the engine compartment. They are assembled and then dropped into the engine compartment, so not all components will easily come off, especially with the way manufacturer's pack them in.
