St. Louis. 2nd only to the Yankees in titles (10). Friendly fans. Knowledgable. Support their team (3.55 Million in a 2.5 Million area). Always a sea of red. In the playoffs 6 times in the last 8 years.

What more can you ask for?

If you've been to Yankee stadium then you know the magic of baseball. People will tell you not to support them but that's because some people either don't like the team or they don't like the fact that they are the most successful baseball franchise in the world. They Yankees have been struggling in recent years so being a fan is no cake walk. Do some research and follow your heart, they're are many lovable "small-ball" teams out there like the Rays or the Brewers. If I were you I wouldn't be swayed by the people on here. We're all unbelievably biased...kind of like the footy section :)

You would have much more fun supporting a team that is in your area where you can go see some games. And guess what, it really doesn't have to be a MLB team, if there is a minor league team near you go and support them and watch the major league players of the future.

I'm a Cardinals fan, but if you're not interested in the redbirds I'd also throw my support to the Braves. They have passionate fans and when you take away all the frontrunners that joined in the 90's, then you're left with a good base of knowledgable fans that just plain enjoy baseball.

Root for any team you want, just make sure of one thing. Root for them in good times and bad, even if the bad times seem to never end. I'm a big advocate of civic pride, so I would say root for the team in your city, or for the one that's closest to your home. Don't root for a team just because they're good now. Pick a team you will be able to follow for years. Don't pick a team because a million people are beggin you to join their fan base (Yanks, BoSox, Dodgers, Braves). Be proud of the team you pick and support them as much as you can.

I'm a huge Dodger fan but you know what i think... i think the Tampa Bay Devil Rays need more support, in the stands and on the field

the yankees wont be so overly supported when all the people jump off the bandwagon in the offseason...
nice damage control by hiring Girardi... but it would have been better DC if they had hired Mattingly... a real Yankee, unlike Girardi...
(I like Girardi and I am not a Yankees fan)

Whatever team you feel like supporting. Your hometown? Where you currently live? The one who employs your favorite player? Your choice.

My wife prefers to go with the team who has the best uniforms, although I would suggest the Mets, if you would like headaches and indigestion

Please go with the Dodgers. The way the owner raises the price of everything then spend it on himself, he needs new fans to replace the departing ones.

You know, after raising parking prices last season, he bought himself a new manse. He could have spent it on a pitcher who can throw the ball and sent HENDRICKSON to Little League.
