The full quote is 'I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.' Einstein was implying that at the point of World War III, humans would have developed weapons so powerful that they would destroy civilization as we know it and effectively send the survivors back into the stone age.

World War 3 will be fought with nukes - or something even more powerful. After that nothing will be left. Therefore 4 will be fought with sticks and stones.

He meant that WW III would be fought with nuclear weapons and very few people would then be left on Earth.So then after years we would then be in a new dark age and the next war(WW IV)would then be fought with sticks and stones,just like primitive man did.

Maybe that after an eventual world war III the world as we know it will die. And if the humanity, or the next earth population starts a fourth world war they will only have primordial weapons such as sticks and stones.

He meant that because WW3 would wipe most of mankind out, we would be virtually thrown back to caveman days.
We blew Afghanistan and Iraq back to the stone age with conventional weapons so just imagine what will happen when the nukes are thrown left and right.

But here's something to think about, people with sticks and stones couldn't even organize a world war.

He is wrong..
God Forbid if World War III happens, nothing will be left.
After that there wont be any further World War. If there is any war, that would be either street fight or fight beteen some communities and you cant call them World War :)
