my husband has fluid in his magnum forememn, this what the test results say, any one know what this is. we do not meet with the doctor until the 19th of this month. i am curious?

The foramen magnum is the large opening at the base of the skull where the medulla exits and continues on as the spinal cord. There are two structures on the cerebellum called the cerebellar tonsils. If pressure inside the skull increases, the tonsils can herniate through the foramen magnum, causing serious neurological impairment of nerve impulses to the heart and respiratory centers.

Certain congenital malformations such as the Chiari malformations are associated with cerebellar tonsil herniation.
