You're talking about the Twin Cam 88 engine. It started manufacturing in 1999. It's 88 Cubic inches (1450cc) and puts out 80hp.

I gave the thumbs down truce. You aren't the only one who rides chief. The Harley Davidson website themselves agree with me.

OH AND TRUCE---FYI
THE real DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TWIN CAM 88A AND 88B IS ONE IS A COUNTER-BALANCED MOTOR (b) THE OTHER IS MOUNTED WITH RUBBER IN THE FRAME
THE PART ABOUT ONE RATED AT 1443 THE OTHER GAS MODEL AT 1538 IS ALSO WRONG,
THE 1558 CC MOTOR IS THE 95 CU IN MODEL (bigger pistons and cylinder kit)
HARLEY CALLS THEM THE 1450 AND 1550 RESPECTIVELY
do the math cu. in compared to cubic centimeters
88 cubic inches=1443
vs
95 cubic inches =1558
multiply each centimeter by .39 to get inches. If you are measuring in cubic meters: divide each cubic meter by 35.5 to get cubic feet.
Cubic centimeter, X, 0.061, =, Cubic inches.

'99, I think. Don't quote me.
The TC88 is called 1450cc. Nobody quibbles about 7cc.
The difference between TC88 and TC88B is the B is a balanced motor. It has an additional balancing shaft.

There isn't a HD motor rated at 1450cc.
The TC88a and the TC88b are rated at 1443cc 1999-2006 and the new in 2007 TC96 motor is rated at 1584cc 2006-present.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: Like I said there is no HD motor rated at 1450cc, specifically the TC88a, TC88b (the difference between the TC88a and the TC88b is one motor is EFI the other is carbed) is rated at 1543cc.
Whoever gave me the thumbs down needs to check their facts, I've been riding HD's since the age of 16 and I am 43 now. I think I may have picked up on a few things over the years......I currently own three HD's a Chopper I built myself, a new 2007 RK Custom, and an old ironhead Sporty.
