Alright so the other night I was talking with some friends and we were talking about voting and if we were going to or not, etc. Well my buddy said he wasn't going to b/c he doesn't want to be registered to vote b/c he doesn't want jury duty, and I said oh d@mn I let them register me at the BMV I hope I don't get jury duty... Two days later (today) I get a letter saying I am gonna have jury duty. Thought it was kinda creepy and ironic, my point is I need a good excuse to get out of it.. any ideas?

Chad, what's up!!

Dude, just be like the biggest racist jerk you could be! That shows you're obviously biased and they won't be able to use you!

You can have it delayed for up to a year, but honestly, it's really hard to get out of it altogether. I had to go about 3 months ago and I dreaded it more than anything (dental work included!). I had to show up for roll call, but there were no cases, so I never actually had to serve. I think that happens a lot. Just go, it won't be as bad as you think.

it has to be either..your in a hospital (sick) or a death in the family (close member). It is very hard to get out of Jury Duty.

They will never let you out of it, unless you are hospitalized - the good thing tho, everytime I have gotten a letter about it, the case has been dismissed or settled before it went to court...so I have never actually had to serve one. (And now that I say that, watch...).

You could tho go to the question part and contradict yourself, they would probably dismiss you in a hurry then.
