The one that I would really want is time travel or at least viewing. Preferably into the future to see the outcome of a choice that is about to be made. I think that would save a person from alot of greif in the long run.

I think that invisibility technology will be mastered within the next twenty years and will cause a lot of trouble before government regulation occurs. Shrinking and expanding technologies are also quite possible and can be quite useful for travel amongst other things. This of course can be quite dangerous, but has less devious uses than invisibility...

A machine that would make all weapons, even if it is a rock or a stick AND human hands, when used to hurt others, would be 500 degrees F! When no one could use weapons anymore, what kind of violence could be do toward each other? Especially when looking for oil....

The ability to attain virtual immortality by uploading one's mind to a quantum computer. You could then build whole virtual worlds, and would also be free to upgrade your own mind with greatly increased memory, creativity, depth of thinking, and of course plain ol' knowledge. You wouldn't have to worry about things like aging, disease, or starving, and could venture to places where "meat" humans couldn't (or would have a very hard time), like space, the moon, Mars, the ocean depths, etc.
Free to shape our own evolution, we posthuman uploads could eventually evolve into what are called archailects, with unimaginable mental powers. Not stuff like telekinesis, just vastly profound intelligence, creativity, cleverness, depth of thought, etc.
Check out the links below for more information.

Without a doubt, faster than light travel. It would open up the mysteries of the universe, and increase our possibility of finding intelligent life elsewhere in the cosmos.

On Star Trek when a crew member feels sick or is hurt he/she just goes to sickbay and gets diagnosed and treated almost instantly, plus it's always totally free. I would like that. In other words, I wish "Tricorders" were real.
