Aren't we getting used to staged events now?
Isn't this just a couple of the basic rules of Fascism? Staged false flag events and government suppression of the press.

Henry VIII, I enjoyed your answer but how do you know that our society is still that open. Fascism of the old days was hard to conceal but not in this day of technology. I think the problem is that we have been living under a creeping fascism for quite sometime. It's just getting so big in a society that is on the brink of being out of control they can no longer hide it and I don't think they even try that hard now.

not me and this is just the staged one that was discovered. When people start to realize the the White House press corps is more like the Stepford Press corps (an allusion to the Stepford wives in which robots replace real women) we might actually get some real Q&A.

Whether a simple screw up or something more sinister it should never have happened. One would think this Administration would be walking on eggs and take special care to make sure such things don't happen by mistake or otherwise considering the bad reputation they have. Maybe bad habits are harder to break than one might think.
Yes, the Fascists to use tactics like that but one cannot be sure if that was the intent here. Whether or not it was they got caught and exposed. That is what is important. In an open society as ours it is pretty hard to zing one past as it is in a much more closed society.

Perhaps I'm becoming overly jaded and cynical by the actions of this administration's agencies and blatant crony-ism. The shock for me was that John "Pat" Philbin, who was responsible for the "Faux FEMA" press conference, had his recent promotion put "on hold" pending review.

The White House Press Secretary acknowledged it was inappropriate but there was no mal-intent because they just wanted to get the information out instead of repeatedly answering the same questions from several reporters.

Hmmmm... I thought that type of situation was typically handled by issuing a press release, either directly or through the White House Press Secretary.
Just for 'grins & giggles', I searched the Rush Limbaugh site because he had blasted Dems for 'politicizing' the CA fires

Absolutely nothing from Rush about the faked FEMA press conference though... no shock at all in that.

Hey! Good use of the 'false flag'! You've learned all the liberal lingo! I'm surprised you couldn't fit 'straw man' in there some place. That would have made your question perfect.
As to the rest, yes, we were surprised because as Chertov said, it was a stupid thing to do and it's always surprising with folks do such stupid things.
As for it having anything to do with 'fascism', you need to look up the word. Here's a link. Hmm...sounds a bit more like the 'progressive' mindset than the conservative, wouldn't you say?
Good luck with your education! And thanks for playing.

I wasn't surprised in the least.
It's the only way they know to avoid answering real, hard questions. Fascism? We'll see.

No, just another idiot providing the final decision on whether he gets promoted or not. Nor am I surprised at the "It was Bush's fault" crowd, who have again added to their cries of "wolf" only making the term "Bush Lies" even more meaningless. Very few sitcoms could write this good of script.

Kinda like staging a response to a Presidential radio address with an "untouchable" child who already receives the benefit in question, but spinning it as though he would lose it unless the evil President changed his mind? Is that the Fascism you're talking about?
