Going through some stored emails, I came across this list:

Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately -- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional "pain relievers."

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Colgate will work on burns. Peppermint candy is the best for sore throats or stuffed up nose. As for the honey and vinegar. I don't use it but my sister takes a tablespoon twice a day and she never sick.

I had high cholesterol and I have diabetes II. I was told to eat a hand full of almonds everyday that you buy for cakes and candies. That was three months ago. I just had the best checkup in years. cholesterol was110 and my sugar was 6.5. They had been trying to get me to start taking insulin for a long time and I keep saying no for I don't like needles. My sugar was ranging in the 300's now 115. Also I drink a tablespoon of vinger in a small glass of water with sugar subsitute.

I suppose the heat that horseradish can bring in taste is also what brings blood flow to the surface of an aching muscle.

I wouldn't put toothpaste on a burn though. It doesn't work for pimples either. However the tried and true Aloe Vera gel is nice for burns. It protects the skin, acting as a barrier. Vitamin E oil on a burn helps with keeping it moist as it heals and getting rid of the free radicals, while applying aloe vera over it keeps it on the burn longer and protects.

I like these solutions except for the fact I am a diabetic and Gaterade has lots of sugar. I would live the 1 for sore throat but that too is high in sugar(the honey). I like the Altoids one but I think they are not sugar free either. The others sound ggod.

Another good one is to use Vicks salve on a fever blister it will cure it almost overnight. I have been doing this for many years and it really works. The menthol in the Vicks soothes and draws the infection out of the blister.

I have some books on 'natural remedies' and I often use things like that instead of regular medicines. Some of them work really well for me.
EDIT: I use vinegar for many things, have a book on that too. I keep a mixture of white vinegar and water and spray on a bug bite or minor burn, this works for me. I'm sure things work differently for different folks. Eating something spicy will help clear my stuffy nose too.

I know Gatorade will work, but not "immediately." Lots of times when you are dehydrated, you will suffer a headache. Gatorade rehydrates you.

According to the NY Times, cayenne pepper helps with headaches too.
