My boyfriend told me the other day that he heard that lip smackers put fiberglass in all of their products. I was wondering if anyone else has heard this and if maybe you have a link on an article on it. I like their glosses and would stop using them if they did put that stuff in them.

i do plan on googling it thank you, I just want to know if others can help me in finding it to, since this is a question and answer website, the more help I can get the better since not all website tell the truth. And I'm concerned b/c fiberglass is very dangerous for you..and I don't use the stuff all teh time, I like there clear gloss to put over my lip stick when I go out, like on "special" occasions.

Since that bonne bell is the creator of smackers, you can go to their website and go to "contact us" located at the bottom of the page. they provided email ad there. So, you can clarify this issue to them. Oh, God! I hope it's not true! I love Smackers!!!

Here's the link for their contact info:

I have never heard this at all... I know some cheaper cosmetics use fish scales to produce the shimmery effect, while more expensive cosmetics use mica for the same effect. My guess is Lip Smackers uses fish scales (mmmmm kiwi strawberry)

Nope, never heard of it, but did you know that if you put shimmery lipgloss on almost every day, you're consuming more than 2 million fishes' scales a year?

The shimmery glitter is made from fish scales.

I think most glittery and shimmery products contain fiberglass anyway, so that's nothing new to me.
