Let's face it the US is a rogue terrorist state run by an elite group of fascist dictators - the American media/ propoganda machine is keeping the American people ignorant of these basic facts which are obvious to most people in the World.

So, how can we educate the Americans and encourage the birth of democracy and freedom there? This is an important question for us all considering that the US is the most powerful country in the World and if we want to live our lives in peace and protect our families and children from their bombs then the best way is to try and encourage a shift of power there to normal people instead of the psychos in control at the moment.

Education is the first step -- and not the force-fed mindless repetition that occurs in public schools -- getting people to really stop and think about the issues.

Also we need to break people out of their apathy -- which would require the restrictions to be so significant that it actually impinges on their daily lives. No matter how much is taken away -- if it doesn't affect someone personally, most people aren't going to notice or care.

Sadly, the apathy and partisan bickering have reached a point where it may not be possible to motivate enough people to work together toward a solution -- kind of a critical mass where the spirit of freedom has been crushed to the point where people are unwilling to put the effort into fixing the problem -- or even acknowledging it.

Education is critical. Books like George Orwell's "1984" and "Animal Farm" and Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" should be required reading for everyone, but sadly they have been widely banned in schools, a fact which is deeply disturbing in itself. I'm well aware that these are works of fiction, but they point out the dangers inherent in people's complacency and unwillingness to challenge the status quo. Orwellian slogans such as, "Ignorance is strength", and, "All animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others", seem to have become key elements of the Republican platform. No wonder they don't want students reading these books and getting wise to what's going on. Keeping the majority of the population in blissful ignorance is what has given them their power, power that goes beyond what the government was meant to have. We need to restore the checks and balances and bring back moderation before dissent becomes a crime.

Iraq doesn't have nuclear power, Iran has it. And to bring democracy to a people the people have to be ready to accept democracy as their way of being ruled. A lot of times people want democracy but aren't able to get it(i.e. last election in Iran), and a lot of times people are not ready to be ruled by democracy-especially in muslim countries where corruption is very prevalent. A ruler who has sole power will not be willing to give up his power---so bringing democracy often involves war---and for war there has to be a sufficient reason.

It is indeed interesting and a revelation too that there are people like you who do realise that the so-called champion of democracy needs to set the house in order before preaching to people outside the country!

So if you who (supposedly) live in foreign countries know the truth, why do so many of you foreigners want to live here?

I think you need to look up "fascist" and "terrorist" chief. You have no clue as to what you are talking about.

We need to impeach Bush/Cheney. We need to get more people to understand why it is important. Educate.
Maybe we need more protests and larger numbers.

I am so upset that I couldn't make it to this past weekend's peace demonstrations. We need to do something. It seems that a lot of people just aren't getting it. Stubbornness is hard to overcome.

I cannot dissagree with you more. I live well, have lost no rights, live in a country that supports many other countries, I watch disasters (like in CA) and see everyone joining in to help, College Students, Church Groups, individuals from every side of every fence politically, I have lived in every corner of the US and several other countries, and still I see nothing of your vision in it.
