Ok... I know this Iraqi guy, he's a family friend of ours -- my dad knew him for 20 years, and I've known him since I was born - great guy... He's been a refuge - he left his homeland when he was a teenager... He married a nice white lady (she's really friendly) but she said something kind of weird the other day...

Well, he's a smoker and a drinker, so his wife was saying that she calculated online that he would die in ten years, and she'll take the money in their joint account and move into a studio with their daughter... nobody said anything, but that sounds kind of, well... morbid...

Also, for some reason, she does not want to help him get a citizinship (he seems ok with it) -- but I mean, it's just funky...

I know its not my business... but I have to question: WTF?

Her race doesn't have much to do with it. She's just a b****. They are not restricted to 'white people.' They come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

Umm...dont know I am a white women and married...my husband is a military man and I joke if he dies Im taking the money and living the life...but its just a joke that leads into playful wrestling if you get my drift.I would never say it intentionally to hurt or be morbid..Maybe she wants to see his reaction or what he would say.I know a lot of women have communication problems and instead of saying something trying to beat around the bush to get what they want from the man but comeon ladies...they are men!!

YES it seems funky & very morbid!!!! but why do you have to put a racial spin to it?
"Ok, is the normal among white women?"

Whats that all about .....sure she sounds like a bitc* but its not cause she is white...... I am white and wouldnt act like that..
." I don't know, maybe its a cultural thing...? "

well as I stated I am white and thats not part of my culture......weird Q.. its none of your bussiness and as you stated he doesnt seem to have a problem with any of it....so let it go...

That's certainly not the way I think (I'm a white female) maybe she was trying shock tactics to try and get him to quit smoking and drinking, sometimes taking the "nice" approach doesn't get through, by saying something shocking like that maybe she thinks her message will get through to him and he'll quit? Not sure about the citizenship thing though, sorry.

It has nothing to do with white or other. It is simply about a woman not wanting to be left alone by a guy who is not smart enough to modify his lifestyle to be around longer.

It is also possible that she is tired of looking across the table at a face that looks much like your avatar.

Okay, this is not just "white females" or "females" at all. These are PEOPLE in general who are referred to as "gold diggers".
She can calculate all she wants on the computer, doesn't mean that he's going to actually die on that specific date. Those calculators are purely out of guesstimate and entertainment, not out of truth.
Let her be stupid.

Maybe she was trying the scare factor as far as the smoking/dying comment. They are married so he can do the rest on his own as far as getting his citizenship. Maybe she is afraid that he will leave her once he gets his papers. That's why you should stay with your own race. For the most part, you know what the other one is thinking..

Race has nothing to do with this question, but she seems smart.

I mean who wouldn't think of when their loved one is dying if he does nothing to stop it. Perhaps when you become her age you will understand it better.

If she's friendly and you like her, ask her what she meant by that. Maybe it was a normal conversation for her or feeling.

Good Luck!

It sounds like either A) they got married so he could stay in the country and she is just being really clinical about their situation, B) she is scared that he is going to die because of the drinking and smoking and she is just thinking in her head wtf she is going to do when that happens or C) she is trying to scare him into quitting and doesn't quite know how to tell him that if he doesn't stop the drinking and smoking he is going to lead a very short life...

Or D) she is just a bee-atch.

1. It's none of your business.
2. Sounds like she's trying to scare him into not smoking and not drinking. It would be better for his health.
3. You sound jealous.
4. What's wrong with morbid?
