WWII was dreamed about for three generations before 1939.

Hiram Maxim invented the machine gun because someone told him to find a way for Europeans to kill each other with ease...

World War II was dreamed up rught after Teddy Roosevelt stuck his nose into international politics. He had a shiney new big stick and wanted to see how well it worked.

Fact - our foreign allies beftore 1900 were Persia, Siam and the Ottoman Empire. A few years later, they weren't even countries anymore...

I'm mearly stepping back to see the bigger than usual picture.

Only a few of the actions were intentional. The United Staes invented the modern world. The bad part is, we allowed our public information to be propogandized.

If you take a history class on another continent, you get very different perspectives.

FDR was a brilliant man. He understood direction and he had the tools to change it.

How is it that his wheelchair is still unknown to the common American?

Also...Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain...these places are single entities to the average American because we don't study history like we used to.

There are one hundred kinds of Brit, Frank, German and Spaniard. Mountains and oceans divide on the map. The clan divides on the bargaining table.

We are great because we are savvy businessmen.

What was it that Lord Acton said? Something like "If commerce is at risk, the laws of gravity come into question."

Well...I had Gaul in there and replaced it with Frank...as in Francofile...I knew that Gaul would just confuse everyone.

Wow, buddy, now I am officially worried for you. Has the little woman booked a room with padded walls yet for you? LOL

Facts are, Persia only changed their name to Iran. Ottoman Empire changed it to Turkey, though it was a shadow of itself, but what country was not after a decline in power? Siam, like the other two, changed their name due to a change in the ruling elite. Same country, different name, still has a king.

Machine guns, like other advances made, were not made to fuel conspiracy theories. They were made for money and power plus dreams of glory as well as desires to be free of another country or peoples.

Andrew Wiggin has a point too. But so do you and if you wear a hat, no one will notice. LOL

Next?

I will "get over it" on January 20, 2009.

Please state your source for these dreams. And, for the assertion about Maxim and his machine gun. Did Gatling get the same instruction from a mysterious source when developing his weapon?

Wow... I've come back two or three times to see if you landed anywhere with your question / diatribe. Seems that one continues to elude you.

I'll try again tomorrow.

BTW: FDR's wheelchair is not "unknown" to the "common American". The FDR memorial in DC has him sitting in it, with his little Scottie dog.

When I come back tomorrow, I'd like you to answer this question:

Why are you so interested in making your country seem ridiculously stupid? My guess is that this the only way that you can fashion a self-image that seems smart... But, I'd like to hear it from you first....

That's interesting. I once knew a guy who firmly believed that every thousand years or so, scientists send two of every race into space on a ship with all the world's accumulated knowledge saved in a computer. Once in space, they bomb the world back into the stone age and start all over again from scratch, keeping the world's knowledge well guarded and only releasing it when necssary.

So, in this theory, it would be feasible to believe what you just said. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go with greed. Greed makes the world go round.

Since the first world war was referred to as the "war to end all wars" I'm not sure where this three generations of dreaming comes from.

And Maxim developed his machine gun so that the enemies of the British empire would not want to fight anymore, they'd be too scared of facing the machine gun. It didn't quite work out as planned obviously, but that was the idea.

You forgot to mention, Maxim thought this would put an end to war! And WWII was only thought of after the Treaty of Versaille. Hardly 3 generations!

French, my dear, no Franks. Franks were a Germanic tribe some 2000 years ago. Please update your database.
