I have a sixteen year old sister, and would like to make her something as well. Any suggestions?

If your family, like mine, has tons of photos stuffed in a drawer somewhere, why not make a really nice photo album? You can get scrapbooking stuff cheap at a dollar store, or make your own cut-outs and embelishments. You could even ask older family members if they have pictures of your parents as kids.

I hope you will not get tired of hearing this phrase but I am going to say it anyway..."it is not the price of the gift that matters, it is the sentiment behind it." My daughter once made me a beautiful gift and she invested little money, but the detail and time and thoughtfulness she put into it was priceless. What she did was prepare an album for me...not electronically...which featured her and her sister growing up, in the opening of the album she made her own poem introducing this album to me. It moved me to tears and even retelling this story to you now brings me to tears. It was so thoughtful it has been the best gift ever.
For your sister perhaps you can make her some soaps...my kids love this and you get the instructions on-line...you may only need to buy a couple of items which are very inexpensive from a craft store. Add details that personalize it for your sister. Alot of the things you need you can find in your own home. Use food coloring to dye the soap into your sis' favorite color. You can put flower petals of her favorite flower. If you add oatmeal it becomes a natural exfoliate for her. Your creativity and imagination makes it even better. Wrap them up in a recycled basket or glass vase or bottle and place some holiday ribbon on it and you have a beautiful personalized gift for your sister and the concept of providing her with natural soaps will be enchanting.

If you have a lot of pictures I would make your parents and your sister a scrapbook. I love pictures and scrapbooking. You can buy a cheap album and buy some stickers or scrapbooking stuff and put one together. You could make some of the pages letters and or some memories, funny and happy moments in your guys lives that has happened together and you would only need a pen and your memory for that.I know I would love a scrapbook that someone put together for me cause it comes from the heart! Good luck!

There are places where you can paint your own pottery, maybe for your sister a jewlery box or something like that, your parents maybe a picture frame or something else they have lots of ideas at different price ranges plus you can bring your friends and make a day of it it really is fun to sit paint and hang out and talk

make them a holiday basket stocked with "gifts in a jar" like hot chocolate mix or something, add some coffees, teas, homemade cookies or other baked goodies, her fave candies, a fave book, the possibilities are endless... if they are like my family they prefer gifts that come from the heart not gifts mailed to them in 4 clicks online... good luck!

I tell my children the best gift to give me is to clean my house. That's really all I want. Good luck. 2D
