I am now 14 dpo and 4 days late (but last cycle I was 10 days late-I think it is the Clomid causes longer cycles) after taking my 3rd round of Clomid. I am charting my temps. I believe by my temps that my AF is coming but wanted your take on it.

Also if AF does come then I think hubby and I are going to take a break from the Clomid, charting and opk's this month. The stress is getting to be too much. Has anyone else done this and found that when you went back to your ttc methods you weren't as stressed?
Heres my chart.

Tell me what you would do if you were in our shoes. We have been ttc for 15 months. I was diagnosed with a short luteal phase and was ovulating but not every cycle and hubby checked out fine. This was my third round of Clomid 100mg on days 5-9. Thanks for the help.

I have always had a luteal phase of 9-10 days when I ovulate and a cycle that 27-29 days. I know I am techincally late if you look at the calender but by my luteal phase being at 14 days today it is not considered late. It is tricky depending on which way you look at it. My doctor said to by by my luteal phase and anything after 16 days consider myself late.

I was thinking about trying the Robitussin next cycle. I am going to be talking to my doctor in the next few days if I get AF to determine if she feels Clomid is still benefiting me and I will ask her about taking the Robitussin as well.

I took a test at 11 dpo and it was negative and I haven't tested since. I am really tired yesterday and today and I had a headache both days. I think maybe I am getting sick or something by the way I feel. I am usually full of energy and ready to go but I think I could go to sleep right now. Slighty tender and itchy breasts and I am moody which I usually never am not even before my period. But I think it is because I don't feel good and may be getting the flu. So really I don't think I have any prego symptoms right now. I might test tomorrow if temp is high again.

Hey sweetie,
I am taking the next couple cycles off as well. I have had a really rough month and I just can't emotionally handle actively ttc for a while. If it happens, it happens. I wanted to tell you that I started taking Robitussin last month and it worked very well for me. I got the directions for it's use for ttc off of fertilityfaqs, I see someone gave you the link for it. I rarely got the ewcm before using it and after taking it per ffaqs instructions I got abundant ewcm the last two cycles during ovulation. I hope you get a bfn, but if you don't stay strong! It took me over four years to get pregnant and after two m/c's I was blessed twice with my children. Bless you :)

I'm so sorry that you feel like this won't be your month again!!

Hubby and I thought about a break after cycle three too, the pressure can get to you and the disappointment is hard to take, three times feels like three times too many and you can't imagine going through another month of disappointment. We decided to keep going, after my doctor said that pregnancies when you're not on Clomid are much more unstable and your chance of miscarriage increases. We decided to go through the eight cycles, and re-evaluate before going on to a fertility specialist and whatever the next step would be after Clomid. We were successfull on our sixth cycle!!!!!

Has your doctor done a progesterone serum test or something that tells you that you're definitely ovulating on the Clomid? I was just checking.

Keep the faith!!!! Don't give up, maybe back off of the charting, I found it made me more obsessive anyway and I only did it for six weeks. If this isn't your month, discuss with your doctor about how many cycles he'll give you of Clomid, and what he feels the next step is. Definitely mention the stress of it all, he may have some good suggestions for you and hubby.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the fact that hostile cervical mucous can be an issue while on Clomid. I started using preseed in cycle five of Clomid. I swear it helped!!! I ordered mine from http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com

GOOD LUCK AND BABY DUST!!!!!

wow, thats pretty stressful - I know that I say every month that I am not gonna think about getting pregnant but I cant stop. I don’t chart temps cuz it confused me but I take ovulation tests and then from 10dpo I take pregnancy tests. Its crazy, but I don’t know how to stop being like this. Each month I tell myself that I am not thinking about it and then I do - each month when I get my period I cry that day and feel sorry for myself and then go and do it all again the next month. I give those people credit that can just stop thinking about it and move on but I am obsessive and pissed that I cant catch that egg. I am doing EVERYTHING right and still not catching it. Its ridiculous. Anyway, I could say I was gonna take a break but then secretly taking tests and charting CM each month. ☺
Maybe you guys could plan a vacation or something together to get your mind off the TTC and then as a reward you would get pregnant! Wouldn’t that be great?
Also, if you are 14 dpo that is plenty of time to have the egg implant into the uterus, have you taken a test yet? Any symptoms?

Hi! I to also took Clomid, this was my first round, days 5-9. I am now 14 dpo, i took a hpt, negative, today. Maybe i will try again if AF doesnt come. About the Robitussin, i swore by it, seriously, i have gotten pregnant, 3 times while taking it, once i am on clomid 7 yrs ago, took it my first round and i was pregnant. Then two other times, I wasnt on Clomid, took robitussin, got pregnant, but did have two m/s'c b/c my progesterone is low. And wouldnt you know this one month, i FORGOT to take my robitussin! So if Af arrives, I will be trying next month with Clomid and Robitussin. When you di ovulate, take Robitussin (normal adult dose) about 1 hr before you have sex.. and then ofcourse lay on your back with a pillow under your butt for a good 15-20 mins... Good luck!!

Hey, I'm so sorry. It does look like you will be starting your period today or tom. I think taking a break sounds like the perfect idea. Sounds exactly like what you need.

I think that technically you can't say that you are 4 days late, because clomid is making your lp longer so you aren't late until 14 or 15 dpo.

I think the Robitussen would be wise, or try preseed. I have heard good things about people trying robitusen. I hope that next month works out for ya. I know that you will get your bfp real soon.

Yes, from your chart it does look like you will be getting your period tomorrow. How are you figuring that you are late? A luteal phase can last from 10-16 days. It can fluctuate from cycle to cycle how long your luteal phase lasts. Not everyone follows the text book lutueal phase of the exact number of days each cycle.

Women who are taking Clomid to induce ovulation frequently experience hostile mucus. Cervical mucus is described as "hostile" when it is too thick to allow sperm to penetrate the cervix, thereby preventing conception. In order to get pregnant you need fertile cervical fluid/mucus. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy. Many women compare mucus at this stage to raw egg whites.

I have a few tips/ideas for you:
-A way to help the hostile cervical mucus problem is to take guaifenesin. Guaifenesin is the active ingredient in Robitussin, and Mucinex - over the counter medicine in the US. Robitussin is a syrup and Mucinex are pills. Read about it here: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/cm.html
-When having baby sex, use preseed. Preseed promotes a sperm friendly atmosphere. You insert it 10 minutes prior to having sex.) http://www.preseed.com/
-try acupuncture- it has helped many women conceive and it helps tremendously with stress

Some other tips:
-Do not douche or use scented tampons. They alter the acidity of the vagina.
-Do not have oral sex when you are having baby sex. Saliva can kill sperm.
-Have sex in the missionary position. This allows for the deepest penetration and will deposit the sperm closest to the cervix.
-After sex, stay laying down with your pelvis slightly elevated/tilted for 15 minutes.

Hi HoneyB1 according to the chart I feel that your Af is coming soon because of the continuous drop in the temperatures. I think it is a good idea to take a break for a month or 2. I am also planning to take a break for 2 months.
My husband got his Semen Analysis report and the Morphology (shape) of the sperm is not good and we are planning to go to a urologist. In the mean while iam going to stop taking chlomid for 2 months.

hey, I've relise you temp drop, so heads up don't feel down you can always try again next month, and yes giving up on clomid might just be the key to unlock your door, I did clomid for 4 cycles and never did ovulate, so I give up on it this month, I am now on metformin, I have heard alot of ladies who gave up on clomid and in no time they ended up pregnant, I hope for you next month, hop u get your BFP just as well as I do want it
