not dip into the fund set up to help her,
but then i wouldnt leave my children, vulnerable & alone in the 1st place

Life for the twins will never be the same again, they will have this stigma for the rest of their lives, whatever the outcome, wouldnt you sell your last, never mind your house?

**Emily, I honestly believe, if little Maddy were found tomorrow, all she would want is her family, she wont care WHERE they are. I'm sure some big company somewhere would purchase a house instantly for the publicity if nothing else, NOTHING would stop me, and not a round of golf, i wouldnt rest

I'm sorry but this money was not given by hard-working people up and down the land sympathetic to the McCanns' plight, to subsidise their living expenses. It was given to help fund the search for Madeleine and this is what it should be used for. The parents should account for every penny they've taken from the fund and pay the money back. These two doctors, paid for by us through our taxes, are pretty well-off. They should pay their own mortgage.

I couldn't believe it when I heard they were using money donated by the public to pay their mortgage. Given that BOTH of them are practising doctors it's not as if they will be short of a bob or two! The more I hear about the McCann's, the less I like them!

i wouldn't be so sure about that. The fund was set up to look for maddie, provide financial assistance to the family. What good would selling the house do?? Just devastate the twins even more? How weird.

I think everyone would agree that we wouldnt' leave our child alone - but what's been done is done - it is what it is - they can't go back, so all they can do is move forward.

If you're so worried about life for the twins not ever being the same again, then why would you want to uproot them from the only home they've ever known?

I think you may have a little bit of jealousy in your heart about this money thing. It's not yours, you didn't give, so get over it

But would you, if it wasn't strictly necessary? Just because Joe Public thinks you should?
How long would it take you to sell your house? And buy another? When your family is so stressed already?
Why on earth would you want to disrupt your children's lives anymore than it has been? And also, wouldn't Madeleine, if she is every found, want to come HOME.

You are wrong. She will need every bit of normality she can find. You haven't walked in the McCann's shoes, yet. I hope you never have to.

Yes I would!
You could not pull me away from where she went missing for any amount of money if it were my own child!!
good point.
Makes no f'n sense what they did after their daughter dissapeared!!! none. Getting a blessing from the pope!
Come on people!
Even the Ramseys didn't not pull these ridiculous stunts.
Go ahead! thumb me down.

I agree that we would sell everything to help find our child. But if people were so generous and understanding that they donated money to help then we would be silly to refuse that help.
