Probably pretty badly.
But you would sound really, really cool for a minute or so-- and have hero status among some people!

It can damage JOB prospects (summer job at Burger King for example), but you wouldn't DARE say this for a career-based job. Especially not in George Bush's America...

hmmm, for a bit of instant gratification, you might run the risk
of long-term pain.

What would you lose by NOT saying it?
(ans: not much .. at least not much that's worth having)

What would you gain by NOT saying it?
(ans: unknown ... but maybe you would gain integrity,
peace of mind and "no bad-job-karma" )

The world would be a better place if you did not lash-out;

Your boss might take it out on someone that still works there and NEEDS the job ... you would not want to be responsilble for spreading suffering in the world.

just my humble opinion

It depends on who's backing you up. If the boss is an ******, then I would guess that it wouldn't matter what you said. He would damage your career anyway if he wanted to. I'm a boss. If someone said that to me, I would totally understand!

It sounds VERY cool. If you are seriously thinking of quitting your job, I would DEFINATELY suggest doing it this way. Go out with a BANG, not a whimper.

that depends circumstances. You may use this phrase when your boss has behaved with you very rudely and you have another job on hand.

Don't do it!!
I have only left one job on bad terms, and I threw that out there as I was leaving...they gave me a VERY bad reference.

Very badly. I wanted to say that to my last boss. But would she have understood? (korean lady)
Would never do that to my new boss. Love my job, now!
