Do You Like Hitchcock? - Dario Argento's latest flick - It has plenty of gore but a lot of mystery too.

Penny Dreadful - Not super gory but plenty of good suspense.

The problem is that there are not a lot of movies made with a lot of suspense and gore, usually it's one or the other. The two above might fit the bill although they may not be gory enough but they have the suspense for sure.

If you want all out gore (suspense will not be included) watch Flesh for the Beast and Dead Riot! Both of those are chock full of gore, some suspense, but they are over the top.

Flesh for the Beast is the weaker of the two but Dead Riot is an all out camp film. It mixes many of the 70's genres and creates a grindhouse flick. Anything with tons of nudity, graphic gore and women in prison, along with Kung Fu and zombies wins in my book.

Hope you like one of those.

There is no such thing as a really scary 21st century movie that builds up fright. Those movies are all gore, no suspense. Boring.

last year's Feast is a bloody gory funny treat. no punches pulled.

Korea's The Host is a hilarious monster movie.

and of course, the British The Descent, which came out stateside last year, is as tense and horrifiying as can be.
