If the beeps don't normally happen, it could mean you are having some hardware issues. Try this page and see if you can find your beep code.

The beeps are P.O.S.T beeps. it's a way for the PC to communicate if things are ok or not.

Usually if there's something wrong with your setup your motherboard will beep. You should be able to look up the pattern of the beeps online to help diagnose the problem. Figure out what model your motherboard is and just search for beep codes for that model.

One beep is the ready indicator but if it's, if i remember right, 4 or 3 it's a lose RAM stick.

One beep is normal. This is part of the 'POST' Power On Self Test. If you hear more than this, you may have a hardware problem.
