While there are different types of ram, the only type you should be concerning with is the one that's used by your motherboard. None of the types you mentioned will work with the same motherboard - every mobo will take in only one type of ram (there are some exclusions from it, like motherboards that take in DDR and DDR2 OR DDR2 and DDR3, but those motherboards have different sockets/slots for different types of ram).
DRAM and SDRAM are the obsolete kinds of ram, which is only used by few people, who haven't been upgrading their computers within last 5 years or so.
DDR is also obsolete, although it's still used by quite a few people.
DDR2 is the ram that's most popular right now. I'd say about 70% of all computers use this ram. It also has the best prices all around - you can get 2gb of high performing ram for under $90.
DDR3 just came out recently not so long ago. At this time, it has a horrible price/performance ratio (something like $300 for 2gb), so for another year or so you'll be better off sticking with DDR2.
Also, please notice that the only time you can choose what type of ram you'll be using is when you still haven't chosen the motherboard, so check specs of your mobo, what kind of ram it takes, prior to buying ram. Otherwise you will be stuck with ram that you can't use on your current system.

DD3 is faster that DDR2 and DDR. The frequency of DDR3 is oustandingly high in comparison to the early EDO RAM (this is going back a few years...). The memory you've listed can be used in the same priciple. It's all to do with the capacity and speed of the memory (so, memory storage and cycles[Frequency]).

Whatever RAM fits in your mother board.
If you are getting a new system then a dual-channel motherboard with matched DDR3 will be the fastest. You need to get the speed that is matched to your CPU and bus speeds. Faster memory will not gain you anything (unless you plan to upgrade soon) and will just cost more.

Right now DDR2 is the best for price/performance wise!

they are deifferent architectures and speeds. DDR3 is fastest, but beware as youll need to use the RAM you mainboard is designed for. they have different pinouts and voltages, etc.

its not a questions of which is better...its a question of which one works with your computer
