If you're the driver, it is your responsibility to ensure that all passengers are buckled up. If they refuse, then the car doesn't move.

If I was the driver then they would be putting on the seatbelt or out of the car they go, I'm not paying a fine for them, because it's the driver responsibilty that all passengers have their seatbelts on. If they don't care then maybe they should walk instead it's not fair to the driver who would have to pay the fine. Maybe time to meet more responsible friends.

Well if I have an unlicensed passenger in my car where I live, I get the ticket and the demerit points . In that case I just tell them to buckle up or get out as I am not overly interested in paying the $250 for their stupidity, or vanity.

IN general I will just explain to them how if god forbid we were to get into an accident the car stops, however an unbelted passenger does not. It is newton's law. And although they may be fine with their body being catapulted through the car I am not. An unbelted passenger puts every other occupant of that vehicle at risk.

Man put them out of your car, or don't move until they put them on. In Virginia its a fine for the driver if the passengers don't wear a seatbelt. Plus anything can happen.

Just tell them my car my rules...I dont want to feel bad if something happens and you werent buckled up. Not only for the sake of the law but it should be for safety reason.

tell them " get out of the car "

someone in the back without a seat belt is just a loose weapon who if you are driving and he is sitting behind you is gonna come right through the back of your head if you are in a crash , your seat belt stops you hitting the windscreen , but theres nothing to stop him !!!

probably not killing him , but most certainly killing you

same applies on the passenger side

i have seen it happen

all the best
Ian

Your call, I would tell them to get in their car and drive themselves to wherever we are going; or strap on.
I just would not pay for someone else's stupidity.

I wouldn't do anything. I've seen too many people killed because of seat belts and air bags.
