Yes I have! We're military and you never really know how long you'll be at one place or how big it is... When I moved to be with my husband we had a tiny apartment and all this stuff, so we got rid of a lot of things. Three months later we got orders and found a house there. It was huge! I wish I didn't get rid of any of that other stuff....
Also, when I was pregnant with my first, I got rid of a lot of clothes thinking I'm going to be a Mom and shouldn't dress that way, or I wont be that size again, etc... I sure wish I had half of those clothes now!

I know how you feel. I had the sick from 5 weeks and am 11 weeks tomorrow. It has eased loads the past week and im starting to feel a bit more like myself. I have been off work twice (for 4 days at a time) because i was so bad. Mine never went away - went to bed with nausea and woke up with it (with vomiting every few days) My biggest tip would be to keep eating little amounts often - i know you may not feel like it but it does help! Also, beware - make sure you are drinking water - I became dehydrated and had awful headaches and spinning rooms!! It was awful - really scary!! I literally thought i was dying. People kept saying it's a good sign and it will pass - but i was so fed up with it!!! Im so pleased now that it's easing, and don't worry - yours will too - it's all worth it!!! I also invested in some travel sickness bands - they helped a little. Ginger and crackers did nothing for me!!!! Good luck xx

I packed up my hubby's DVD remote and couldn't find it after we moved. I literally did a dance of joy when I found it a few months later...Hubby had voiced his displeasure many times! I put everything (mementos, jewelry, photos, financial and school records) in my car trunk. That limited access by others and also kept my stuff in one spot. Next time I am going to include all the remotes with the rest of my stash!
Try packing all the small stuff up first then work your way up to the larger items. The smaller stuff will take the most time. Also be wary of wrapping dishes in newspaper. It works well as a cushion, but it will leave newsprint ink on your dishes and your hands. I use tissue paper instead. Have plenty of plastic garbage bags on hand...They are great for pillows, clothes, sheets, dog beds. Good Luck with the move!

I lost my most treasured possession when I moved house, I have never got over it. Keep everything dear to you in the same box and if you can, leave it at a friends u can trust until you have moved. That way, nothing will go missing.

YES i have, when we were moving from one state to another, we had been in our home for 17 years, during our packing, i put a blue tote in the living room and told everyone not to touch it as i was putting 'special' things in it, such as the kids baby books, our wedding album, kids 'first' such as hair cuts, teeth, all the things you keep from the time your children are born, well anyway, the movers came in and asked what to do with the tote, i told them that it went into my car, in the trunk, well, they took it outside, and put it on the curb until i opened my trunk, well the trash man ran, and took my tote to be trash, and hauled it away, we did not notice it until the lady across the street came and told us, but the trash people had no way to retrieve it, until they emptied their load, so needless to say i lost it ALL!!

Yes! We were moving from the west coast to the east coast. We couldn't fit my bentwood rocker in the moving truck so we sold it to friends. I really wish we would have tried harder to get it in. When we moved back to the west coast several years later, I spent all day making sure that every single thing fit in the truck. Everyone helping said I couldn't do it. HA!!! I did and I am NEVER moving again !!!...:)

of course i think we have all done that before and it has happened to everybody who has ever moved . usually I start packing a month before hand so that we will make the move easier . I usually use a spare room and stack alongside the wall and all the boxes are ready to carry to the car ,truck etc...
