We've been together for almost 5 years. He comes from a family that cooks nothing, but fattening foods. So I did lose the weight lol. We've adopted better eating habits and we no longer eat fried foods. He's had severe cholesterol problems in his mid 20's and this was 10 years.

My husband is a very good cook, in fact, he does most of the cooking. We're both Cajuns. In Louisiana, a Cajun man isn't a man if he can't cook. The only problem with his cooking is, is he take so long. He so serious and he's so in to it. But, it's a small price for a good meal. He loves doing it and inviting friends and family over. Another drawback is, I'll never be a size two. Enjoy your food, you're lucky like me. Good luck. 2D

I do the cooking in our house. He does the dishes :)

If you're eating a lot and gaining weight, the two of you can go for romantic walks after the fantastic dinners and burn some of those calories!

Also, help him when he cooks and experiment with ways to make his cooking healthier (less meat, more veggies... olive oil instead of butter... new, healthy recipes). Having a boyfriend interested in cooking can be great! Have some fun learning about food and trying new things.

He does a really good job as long as there are directions. I know men and directions, LOL, but he says these are different. If he takes a wrong turn on the road he gets another chance, if he misses something in cooking he has to EAT his bad decision.

If you gained 20lbs in the first six months from all of his cooking then he should try using less butter, salt, sugar, and trans fats in his recipes. Unless of course he's fattening you up to serve on Christmas Day.

He is an excellent cook. I make most of the basic dinners, but when we want something different he does it. He makes really good homemade soups and chili. And, he is good at cooking mexican food.

He is, but usually hasn't the time. He has some specialty dishes, though, which he's nice enough to make upon request! I LOVE his schnitzel, another dish with is ethnic, and these really amazing walnut cookies like his mom used to make.
And the dude doesn't use recipes, even for baking bread!
