I don't know where the directions are but what happens if you pull back that glowing thing on the side of your flash drive? I haven't done it yet I'm just rly desperate because there's some sort of error on my drive and no computer is recognizing it and all my files are gone!

You will corrupt any open file in write stage

Pull the drive out.
Shut down your machine.
Then reboot your machine.
Wait until Windows is completely loaded.
Plug the drive in and wait while Windows finds and configures it. See if this alleviates the problem. (If Windows says that the drive needs to be formatted, do not allow it to format your drive...at least not yet....)



It could be that the file allocation table is missing, so the files may still be retreivable even if they are not visible in windows. If this is the case, a good file retrieval program may help you get the files you need.

If this is not possible, the drive may be totally lost. The only thing to do at that point is to reformat the drive or buy a new one.

Never, Never NEVER have important files in just one location (in this case, on a flash drive) Always Always ALWAYS backup important files on a daily basis.

I'm sorry to break it to ya but it may be gone and you shoulda backed up your files onto a disc. My teacher tought me to back up files on my disk drive every friday. Onto a disc. then you lose you flash drive just pop in the cd and you're files are there and just copy and paste.
