Linkletter was famous for interviewing children on House Party and Kids Say the Darndest Things, which led to a successful series of books quoting children.
He was so great with the kids. I loved his shows.

I loved to watch 'Kids Say the Darnest Things' and Art Linkletter was great. Back yrs ago my mom wore all these Dolly Parton type blonde wigs. One day when my daughter was small, we were out eating. My daughter looked over at a bald man and asked very loudly, 'Grandma, why doesn't that man wear a wig like you do?' lol

It was a segment of the ART LINKLETTER HOUSE PARTY. Last time I saw that show was in December of 1965 before I went off to spend time with our lovely little brown friends in South East Asia on the Mekong Delta.

MAN what a hard question! I have ideas for others but it's just one character from different sitcoms. The Partrige Family Keith --- Chip Monk Danny --- Morgan Shirley --- JustMe Laurie --- Luvspbr Tracy --- JudyB Reuben --- Goldwing I dream of Jeannie Jeanie --- Barbara Tony --- DullDill Frank --- Robert W Lavern and Shirley Lavern --- Harley Lady Shirley --- Mary S Mad About You Jamie --- JuJu Paul --- Fisherman Wings The receptionist --- Gladys (perfect match there) On second thought, I think Goldwing would be Mr. Wilson of "Home Improvement" the smart man with all the good advice.

The show was called "House Party" and the children were a segment of it. Another part I liked was when Art went into the audience and randomly chose a woman and asked her if he could go through her purse. The audience was in hysterics as he revealed the odd assortment of things women routinely carry.

Kids say the darndest things. Great show. Later revised by Bill Cosby. Not sure of the name of that one but it was along the same lines and hilarious.
