1) Believe in free enterprise? All I hear on YA from you goof balls is that profit = bad. If someone wants to buy or listen to something (talk radio), shouldn't the be allowed? Isn't this a free country?
2) Believe in free speech? Again all I hear on YA from you goof balls is that talk radio = bad. Aren't these people citizens of the united states? Don't they have the same freedoms that you and I have to express our minds. They provide a product that people want to either buy or listen to. That falls under Free Enterprise.
Just because you don't like what these individuals to say, what right do you have to ban it?
Liberal talk radio failed. I listened to it for a week. All they did was bash Bush the whole time and didn't offer any solutions or proposals. Therefore it failed under the free enterprise system.

Giving - If Rush is such an idiot, then why is he making a profit? Are you jealous that you cannot do the same? If you don't like the man's politics, there is a simple solution. TUNE HIM OUT!

Because they feel threatened by talk radio, obviously. That's why they hate it so much. Why else would a member of Congress waste the People's time and money bashing a COMMENTATOR for doing his job and making comments?
I am no fan of Rush... so I just don't listen to him. I am also no great fan of Howard Stern, so again, I just don't listen. I am in charge of what I listen to, so why should I be offended by someone I don't even listen to?

I totally agree. Though I am far from a neocon, I must admit that Rush (though a pig) bashed Clinton BUT he also aired his ideas on what to change and how to change. Keep in mind that Rush has bashed the GOP congress and Bush on several occasions.
For all those who bash Rush, I wonder how many have actually listened to his show? This is no different than the idiots who burn books based on the rantings of a zealot without ever reading a page.

From the percentages of the answers, you've gotten enough to validate your position, which is all people who ask "questions" like this ever really want, but I'll give you a reasoned answer anyway.
When was the last time you saw a Democrat trying to shut down a business? Or do you consider them paying ANY taxes restriction of freedom? As for talk radio, liberal talk radio will always fail because liberals don't need to have their views repeated time and time again to feel secure in their beliefs. They use their minds instead! Fairness Doctrine, as stupid as that law is, demands equal time. How is that suppression of free speech?! We have no desire to ban what you say, but we do demand the right to disagree with it in as volatile manner as you say it.
And for the guy who asked if any of us have ever listened to Rash Limbaugh, I did for TWO YEARS! I wanted to see if he could change my mind. I finally had to quit when the vitriol made me nauseous!
Now go answer one of the questions that insults conservatives!

1.) I think free enterprise is a great system. Unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be working anymore. Corporations want to make larger profits so they outsource there manufacturing to China (communist state with cheap labor). That way they avoid paying living wage and make bigger profits on their products. In case you haven't noticed Barbie's not any cheaper than she was when she was made here and Nike tennis shoes are still $100 a pair. Of course, the manufacturing jobs that are lost to China are middle class jobs. Eventually the middle class won't be able to afford to buy Barbies and Nikes and the profits are going to be pretty nil for the corporations that are making them. Also you are looking at less tax revenue.
2.) I think most US citizens, if they believe in our constitution should believe in free speech. I'm all for it. I am also for a freedom of religion, freedom of choice, etc. Of course, Republicans want to tell everyone they are going to hell if they are not a evangelical fundamentalist. They set such high moral standards for everyone then the next thing you know they are texting teenage pages for sex, doing the tango in the washroom, visiting prostitutes in New Orleans. Republicans are all for freedom of speech as long as it's theirs. Ann Coulter is a prime example.

And democrats keep complaining that the reason they're so unpopular is that their 'message' is not getting out there. That people don't understand their 'message'. It never seems to occur to them that the problem has never been the 'message', but with their 'ideas'. We hear their message all the time blaring from the main stream media. We can't miss it. And as a result, the issue we have is with their ideas.
And yet it's amazing that they never seem to question the validity, the value, the sense of their idea. "Our ideas are perfect, so why don't the American public get it?" Um, we do get it. That's the problem.

Talk radio is exactly that...TALK. What ideas, proposals or solutions are you talking about. Conservatism and those radio talking-heads who espouse that philosophy only offer trickle-down solutions...that is...follow the MONEY. There's nothing new here. They hide behind morality and family value issues to divert attention from their true intention and that is the MONEY.

Oh why, oh why do Republicans HATE America? Why do you insist on hurting America by having a political point of view? What do you have against puppies and babies and apple pie and marching bands and football?
(Yes, I am being ironic.)
Spare me the "Democrats don't believe in free speech" crap. It's just so much propaganda and it makes you look like a huge partisan dork. Politics are a lot more complicated than that, but it makes us feel comfortable if we can simplify the whole question into a "puppies are good, taxes are bad" summary.
Talk radio, on its best day, regardless of affiliation, is heavily slanted to one point of view. On its worse days (more often than not) it is nothing but bluster and bashing and shouting, substituting volume for thinking, rather than reasoned and objective investigation of problems and solutions.
If you get off on listening to talk radio for one side, but not another, that ought to tell you something. To wit, your own brand of talk radio is not any more rational than the other guy's. It just makes you feel all rah-rah. What is that worth?
Put down the kool-aid, turn off the radio and use your own eyes and ears and mind to decide what YOU think is really going on around you.
Cheers!

It was people like rush limburger who caused all of this hate and lack of respect between people who have different political ideas. Free enterprise? Sure. But not if it is based on taking unfair advantage of others.
"Liberal" talk radio? Part of free speech, wasn't it? But most people who vote Democratic do not have time to sit around and listen to the radio all day. And it didn't have the billionaires like the owner of Fox TV (who is Australian by birth) to finance it.
A free country needs the two-party system. In fact, it really needs a multi-party system so voters would have REAL choices.

1) I'm not against free enterprise... that's a silly assumption.
2) I don't care if you listen to Rush...that doesn't mean I'm not going to give my opinion on how his ilk are negatively effecting America. I have freedom of speech also.
I don't think I or anyone else has suggested banning it.

I believe in free speech, probably more than you'll ever know.
I also believe in free enterprise. But when 60% of US big businesses don't pay one dime in taxes beucase of some tax code loop hole, something is wrong with that picture.
