It depends on many factors. Are you married? Do you have children? Do you own a home? Can you make any business deductions? Are you a veteran? Do you have any other dependents (i.e. relatives who can't work)?
The more times you answered "yes", the less tax you will pay. If you answered "no" to all you will probably pay somewhere around 35-40% of the total income. Which means after city, state and federal tax, you'll bring home about $25-28k.
It's almost not worth workin', is it?

No way to tell you, since you don't say how many allowances you claim on your W-4. Also depends where in NY you are, since many areas have a local tax in addition to state and federal.
And by the way, you posted this under Australia - unless there's a New York in Australia, needs to be under U.S.
