The media and the government has labeled the Kurds as rebels, but they are against the better good of the Turkey people, and the Turkey government. So they are in fact terrorist, so regardless of what Iraq thinks they are. The United States should say to Turkey, we know you do not need our help. But we want the world to see that terrorist in any disguise is not tolerated, and we are here already combating terrorist so please allow us to help you. Then squeeze them between our troops and the troops in Turkey and make them stop. If we as a country that is totally against terrorist in any form, and we passively sit back while it is happening right under our troops nose. Then we must impose the very same sanctions on ourselves. We can not worry about the Iraqi governement and whether they back these so called rebels, we must do what we say we will do, not only where we can receive a political gain, but whena country and it citizens can be safe it is a must.

The PKK has been declared a terrorist org. by the USA.

The PKK has been labeled as a terrorist organization by the US State Department. The question is whether the US will take any action against the PKK.

The movement of US troops into the Kurdish areas in northern Iraq would alienate the Kurdish population and hostile actions against other Kurds, to the benefit of Turkey, would probably be met with hostility. The US does not want to alienate the Kurds.

They need to be dealt with but remember it isnt the Kurds but a small group of Kurds. I understand the horrible mistreatment of Turkish Kurds by Turkey over the years (and it has been brutal) but skip across the border into Kurdish controlled territory in Iraq and live in peace.
