The San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium is very nice, and this is a great time of year to go because the animals are more active in the cool temperatures.
While at the Zoo take the kids for a ride on the Eagle, a miniature train which runs through the park.
There is also the Natural Bridge Caverns Drive Through Wildlife Park. North of the city.
There are some discovery exhibits at the Witte Museum and there is the Childrens Museum.
On Broadway near Brackenridge Park and the Witte Museum and the Zoo, there is the Kiddie Park. It is the longest running kiddie park in the US. The rides are older but they are carnival type rides and made for younger children. I used to take my kids there all the time when they were in Kindergarten.
Actually, in a couple of years with 2 kids in kindergarten or above, I could recommend a lot more.
Have a nice time in San Antonio, and come back in a couple of years, we will really entertain the kids.

Here is similar answer that I gave a few months ago but it would still be a great place to take a youngster.
there is a corn maize in Hondo Texas at the Graff family farm. They are located about a half mile east of Hondo on HWY 90.
From now until November 25, 2007
Admission is
12-adults $8.00
4-11 6.00
3 and under free
They have a lot of different tings there and it is fun for both the kids and the adults. You might call them as the have a lot of different deals on admission and you might just save a dollar or two, their number is; 830-741-3968
This is a great place to take youngsters when you go looking for the pumpkin for Halloween.
here is a list of other things that are there and fun;
Corn Cannon
Country Store
Cow Train
Mini Maizes
Hay Jump
Hayride
Pumpkin Patch
Tube Slide
Goat walk
This has a mini maize that is just perfect for your kids. Have fun.

You could also go to Schlitterbahn's waterparks. There are 3 different ones so that should keep you occupied, but I suggest you buy the tickets and visit them all in the same day. Definitely ride the Dragon's Revenge or Master Blaster first because as the day goes on the lines will be horribly long. You could also go to the zoo, go to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not, visit the Alamo, watch a movie at the Santikos Palladium IMAX theater, and walk through the Riverwalk and River center mall.
