They will know but looking at your cervix during the smear if you are pregnant. Any ways they do an internal exam and a smear when you go in for your first visit with you obgyn so no worries it won't hurt the baby. You could tell the nurse you suspect you are pregnant and give them a heads up just to be on the safe side.

They do a pap smear during the initial OB visit for pregnant women, so I'm assuming it's safe. Tell your doctor if you still haven't had your period by the time you have your appointment. They can order a blood test to see if you're pregnant.

Just tell the doctor when you go in you may be pregnant. They normally do a test to see if you are pregnant before they do a pap anyhow. The doctor wont do anything that will hurt the baby, just make sure he knows you could be pregnant.

You need to let your doctor know and see what he says. Don't take any chances. I don't think you should be having a smear or pap test while pregnant. I know I never had a pap test while pregnant six years ago.

Most OB doctors do a pap smear at your first pregnancy visit anyway, I had one..so I would say it is completely safe. Just make sure the doctor knows that you may be pregnant when you go in.

A smear test is more accurate if performed mid cycle, so I would postpone the smear test and take a pregnancy one .

Before your exam they will more than likely ask you when your last period was. Use that time to tell the nurse that there is a possibility that you may be pregnant. They will then test to see if you are pregnant and proceed from there with an exam that is appropriate.

You won't hurt the baby. Even if you are pregnant, you still have paps done. Just make sure to tell the doctor that you could be pregnant and they will do a test on you.
