I have a 2004 Honda CRV with 170K. The check engine light came on today and hesitates at exactly 2800 rpm and kicks back in at 2400 rpm. When accelerating or rev engine the rpms will not exceed 2800 rpm. Could this be a problem with the MAF sensor???

Really a scan is the best idea
Your car is equipped with a OBD2 computer which sends trouble codes to a tool.
Those codes tell the tech exactly what the problem is.

Isn't the world of electronics great.

I recommend taking it to a real shop to get it scanned by a diagnosis machine not pep boys code reader.

After the repairs are made - the code are cleared and re-tested for new codes.
Sometimes fixing one problem - then clearing and retesting will show another problem.

Your CRV does not have a MAF sensor
See what the check engine light says which code first then go from there.Do not guess.

YOUR SHOULD GET YOU VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED TO FIND OUT JUST WHAT THE PROBLEM IS FIRST AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

Take the car to auto zone or advanced auto parts and they will diagnose it for free.Guessing is very expensive on auto parts.
