I daydream all day long. I am obsessed with daydreaming, i mean even when people are talking to me I am daydreaming. I kinda enjoy it sometimes, but sometimes it gets annoying and i cant concentrate on things. For instance listening to music help me do my work but when i listen to certain songs i picture myself in a situation where that song would fit perfectly. Basically i always dream up what im gonna do the next day or what i want to happen in the future. Like while in a car or something i always image "what if i got in a car accident or something." Its fun sometimes but its really getting boring, and i need to focus on the present.

You could have adult attention deficit disorder. Your doctor can give you medication to help you stay focused more. Good luck!

Your habit is just a projection of what you want to be or are just symbols of your frustrations or anything that you haven't achieved in the present. Of course, it's easier said than done to put a stop to this especially if you have been doing this for quite some time. The only way to somehow "lessen" it is to do something that can be related to what you wish you were doing. If you're preoccupied with something that you're pretty interested in, there is no way that your brain will wander somewhere else, because you like what you're doing. Live the present so that you can achieve what you envision yourself in the future. Do this gradually, until such time that you have gotten used to living in the present. Just be patient and persistent.

Stop worrying, it's nice to daydream. I don't have time to do it on a daily basis because I am focused on my work at school.

The work you are doing must be boring, or why would you daydream? If you think your daydreaming is getting out of hand, just bring yourself back to earth when you start daydreaming.

If you can make this optional, your capacity to visualize the future can be a real asset and map for your future to see where you want to go. If you use it to procrastinate, it can trip you up. Talk to someone professional about this and make sure that an attention deficit disorder isn't keeping you from controlling and using your day dreams. If you can lay out what you are going to do the next day and make it happen that is a major key to success..

Just gonna take a whole change of mind, especially if that's what your used to and that's your lifestyle. You could take drugs and hope that helps, but really that's a temporary solution. A good place to start is by getting enough sleep, doing meditation, getting hobbys, making social networks, and-probably the most important part-having important goals to work towards.

Foremost, I would check to see if it is adult ADHD.

If it's as bad as you think it is you should get professional help- this is the general definition of "bad" in the field: it interrupts your life.

Sounds to me like you may have borderline personality disorder. Do you have any of these other common symptoms? Maybe not as a extreme-

1. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment
2. Unstable and intense interpersonal relationships
3. Identity disturbance (a feeling that one doesn't exist )
4. Impulsiveness
5. Recurrent suicidal thoughts, gestures, or behaviors
6. Emotional instability and/or mood swings
7. Chronic feelings of emptiness (boredom)
8. Inappropriate displays of intense anger
9. Transient, stress-related paranoia, dissociation, or doubling

Disassociation is a form of self hypnosis to cope with many other things going on in your life.

Now, don't get scared it's probably not nearly this bad and you probably don't have all the symptoms- but truth be told... if it is disturbing your life you should seek professional help. Begin with yoga and meditating to help you focus and concentrate.

Think you should try meditating, at least a few minutes a day. Maybe when you wake up and before you go to bed. Just give yourself some alone time were you can think and its not disrupting anything. (While driving?? How do you do that!?)

You're imaginative and you need to harness your imagination to work for you. Reading a book that you have to concentrate on (about a subject you are really interested in) will start you focussing on more important stuff. Try writing a journal only for yourself, and you'll get it all out. Otherwise, I think you ought to write a book.

I think you need to relax, and just take things as they come. Try looking at things with a diffrent perspective, try and make you life a little more exciting, that way you would want to pay more attention to your life than to just dreaming about it.

don't get me wrong, i daydream too, but not that often. try searching for a suitable hobby for yourself that keeps you distracted from daydreaming. (video games always work for me) if that doesn't work, u could see a psychologist if u want.
