Sends a timing spark to the main coil pack, telling it when to sent spark to your spark plugs!

Pick-up coils send an electrical signal to the ignition module to trigger spark and fuel injectors. That said, I don't think 1998 Blazers have pick-up coils. These use crank and cam sensors which are basically the same thing just built into a smaller unit and close to what they say.

Sends signal to the ignition module for spark,also to the engine computer for pulsing fuel injectors.

It triggers the spark. This type ignition replaced the points and condenser for electronic ignition to work.
