I've been barefoot for many years now but I'm neither a hill-billy nor do I really hate shoes; I just like going barefoot that much *better* that I won't ever wear footwear again. But I didn't used to hate shoes when I still wore them and when friends get new shoes or something, I can honestly say so when I like them (as long as it's them wearing the shoes, and not me, LOL!).
Only the very narrow, pointy-toed shoes, high heels and such make me cringe since I know enough about feet to know what those kind of shoes do to them. Almost all footwear does some damage to the feet, especially women's, but those are the worst, I couldn't ever stand wearing high heels even when I still wore flats, trainers, sandals or boots. And then they ask *me* if my feet don't hurt!
