Women have ran for President in the past. Over 200 years of "equality" (notice the quotes in equality) and no woman has been good enough to win?
Are people in America brainwashed to believe that only men can lead ??

What does brainwashed mean? I bet you don't know. Why do you hate America?
If you knew anything you would know this: Womens equality is less then 100 years old. Not only that, but no woman has mounted a credible campaign until Clinton.
Brainwashed, don't show how stupid you are. It is called money. The money is controlled by men, so that takes care of that.
Can you name a prominent woman that run for president? See how stupid you really are.

A. Didn't we have a question like this yesterday
B. A women would have to campaign to those people that believes a women's place is barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen, people in the South and my own brother.
C. I have said it before and will keep saying it. To all the people that say is America ready for a female President. There have been female leaders all over the world, so what does that say about the country that always says all people are created equal.
D. Women were not allowed to vote until 1921. That was 86 years ago, not 200.

NO! Women aren't incompetent but they are discriminated against by those in our society that think men are the leaders and ONLY leaders. If that was the case - what about Cleopatra and others in history that have lead nations or continents? 200 years is not a enough time to make such a statement. YES, people are brainwashed in America to think that only men can lead. In today's world men are the least likely to lead properly and women can see the "big picture" of what is happening!

First of all nice legs ....secondly , women already lead , every man in a relationship is lead by a woman , we have to do as you say , because you have the goods ...I would not say all women are incompetent , just the ones who have ran for office are ..you never see a hot chick running , I would bet you a years salary if the Budweiser girls ran for office they would get more votes than Hillary , If you want Hillary , and you think you can live off less than half your pay from her tax hikes , then go vote for her , and by the way with all her plans we can not afford , we are looking at another 45 to 50% increase on income taxes , that is to start with , once she makes it law , there would be no turning back , and with those tax hikes , there comes no tax refunds or tax credits ... we are fixing to be in enough trouble with the fed cutting the interest rates again , to save all the dumb suckers who can not manage money or do the math before signing mortgage papers , another rate cut by the fed is going to increase the costs of food , clothes , and gas , wait and see what I tell you .. Give me a woman worth a sh*t running for President , and I will vote for her .....

Women didn't even have the right to vote for a very long time, I think it came about early in the 1900's. It is like culture, evolution, Let me give you an example, School teachers in the late 1800's, they couldn't read anything but the Bible, they could never ever date, they couldn't show their ears or their ankles or they would be considered a hussy etc etc. So if you can see how far that aspect has come in 100 years plus, then you can see it is like "habit" I was the first female 9th grade class president in jr. high in 1966 and that was huge and I am on your side about equality for females, but you always have to look at where it came from how much has changed. I am 56, when I was in high school we had to wear dresses to school every day all the way thru high school and there were no school sports for girls, Geez in my town there wasn't any girls soccer until 1993 !! things evolve slowly, sad but true :(

There is no equality in America. People just say this to make non-Americans feel inferior. Ask any person who lives in the inner sities if there is any equality. It has only been recently (within the last 20 years) that there have even been women in higher cabinet posts. Prior to that...even if there was a woman who was competent, she couldn't get enough experience in higher office that would make her a likely candidate. I remember when I was a teenager and Shirley Chisolm...not only a woman...but an African American....threw her hat into the ring. You'd woulda thought...by the way the media carried on...that we had just been invaded by martians. I think...however...Hilary as a decent shot...at least...for getting the democratic nomination. Her biggest advantage is who she's married to and everyone knows it. Hopefully...she and Bill won't sabotage themselves. If she wins the party nomination and gets elected....hopefully...she will thank the Bushes in her acceptence address.

So, is your question about the "competency" of women candidates, or the fact that the general public won't vote for them?

If a candidate is presented to the public that is acceptable and that holds the same values as the majority, that woman will get voted in.

Of course, I don't consider the current "woman" candidate to actually be female, but that's just me!

I don't believe it's a gender thing anymore. When Shirley Chisholm ran is 1968 it was.

Geraldine didn't lose the VP because she was a female she lost because of an ultra liberal running mate.

Hillary won't lose because she's a women. She'll lose because Americans can see the danger she would bring to the White House.

Men believe themselves to be superior & do not want change. Too many women have been brainwashed to believe that only men can be the boss. Women need to wake up, there are more of us then men. We (women) are the "deciders" but some just haven't realized it yet.

it has nothing to do with gender intelligence.. society has believed for centuries that men are more fit to lead and because of that belief women don't have a fair chance when running for president..

I think society is changing though and we will see a woman president become elected by 2020.. I sure hope it isn't Hillary though! Conde Rice would be a good one..
