Not that close to the Grand Canyon, looking from the air there are all different shaped, almost like helicopter landing pads but so, so many triangle, square, round and look like concrete.Tried to ask the flight attendant the last time but she got busy. Regular people flying, pilots, flight attendants WHAT ARE THEY?

They don't build helicopter landing pads out in the desert for no reason, just in case. So that's not it. It was either natural, or some kind of military, my guess.

It's hard to say based on your description exactly what you saw. There are a lot of really wierd things that you can see from the air in that region, and not all are natural.

There is a large military compound in southern Utah called the Dugway Proving Grounds. They test all kinds of weapons there and it "once" was the site of a chemical weapons facility. If what you saw was a military compound, the shapes were likely the tops underground bunkers.

A good thing to do is check out google earth (www.earth.google.com). Download the program if you haven't already, and use it to try to figure out where you were and get a closer, longer look at what you saw. Then try to figure out if it's a military reservation.

some would say they are natural rock formations. Others would say that they are alien party sites, who knows for sure? i would say tht they may be concrete landing pads, built for emergency rescue/landings.
