Unlike many other animals, ants use smell instead of noises to talk to each other. Ants use a type of chemical called pheromones that leave a scent to help ants communicate, as well as figure out where each member of the colony is or was last located at. Ants also use their elbow-shaped antennae to smell, as they don't have nostrils like humans have.

No, insects don't breathe as such. They absorb oxygen directly through their skin.
This is one of the reasons why insects are all small, and you'll never get the B-movie cliche of giant ants running amock and destroying a town.

no...like most insects they have small opening in their exoskeleton called spiracles which allow air to enter the tubes that move throughout their bodies.
