I agree with the first poster. My guess is there probably isn't life on Mars, but even if there were, do you think they'd want to be found? They're probably so far advanced in their intelligence that they know exactly what would happen--they get found, we take one (that probably wasn't dead to begin with) and start doing "autopsies" on them to see what they're like. Suddenly all the movie stars and really really rich people are wanting them as pets so we take more and more and ruin their livelihood. Haha that's just a thought. If there is life out there, I hope the hell we're smart enough to leave them alone.

Most evidence found so far suggests that there is not now, nor has there ever been, life on Mars. However, scientists want to be throrough, and continue to investigate as many possibilities as the technology available to us will allow.
IF any life IS ever discovered on Mars, it will most likely be the most basic form of cellular life -- anything beyond that would have been more easily discovered. Such a cellular life form can hide in small niches around the planet where minuscule amounts of water may remain, or in the artic regions where artic ice is present.

The main reason there are no living organisms on Mars is because the soil has a high percentage of Hydrogen Peroxide in it. As you know we use that stuff to kill bacteria and any other living organisms on cuts and wounds, so if any kind of simple organism tries to grow or evolve on Mars, it would be instantly killed by the Hydrogen Peroxide in the soil.

Probably because any life on Mars was ancient like canals . Therefore we haven't gone deep enough into the surface to retrieve any such samples or fossils.

Either there is no life on Mars or it doesn't want to be found.

well life on mars requires water. Any life needs that. none of our prbes have gone undergorund of mars, so there may be FROZEN water there. (mars' surface temp. is from -140 degees Celcius to 20 degrees celcius) if there is life it probly would stay hidden as we would about kill it. or if it s an advanced species it could come back ans kill us. but that is worst version of the story. we could make friends and live happily ever after w/the aliens ;)

There is no life on Mars. It is too cold and there is too much radiation.
