I have a 55 gallon fish with an Oscar, Pleco, Pictus Catfish, and a Koi fish from a pond that had gone bad. They are doing fine. People keep "harrasing" me that they would call me a bad fish keeper. I mean its a weird thing, they are doing great. The Oscar is a "Fancy" or so they said, and Hes around 5' or so

The problem isn't that you've got an Oscar with other fish, it's that you've got 3 potentially huge fish (Oscar- 15 inches, Koi- 2 feet, Common Pleco- 18 inches) and you're still thinking about adding another monster (Pacu-2 feet). You NEED to realize that as your fish grow, you will see more and more fights, and in such a small tank, your fish will be dying. You NEED to separate them or get a MUCH bigger tank (150+ gallons) before you even consider adding a Pacu. If you aren't willing to do what's best for your fish, maybe pets aren't for you. Email me if you have any questions.

Ghapy and Soup Nazi are the only two answerers that have it right here. Oscars are a very nice fish and are not nearly as aggressive as their reputation. They can go with many different types of tankmates. But you are trying to put so many potentually huge fish together that it is going to make the Oscar aggressive. It is survival of the fittest, they know that they won't be able to live in there together when they reach full size, so they will try to kill the other fish so that they can have the room they need. Oscars need a 75 gallon alone, but a 55 can work as long as there are no tankmates. You need to seriously think about what your doing to these fish. There is no way you should put a pacu in there either, they need huge tanks because of the size that they can grow (12 inches in the first year, and up to 24 inches). Here's a link to learn a little about your oscar if you care.

In my experience Oscars can be kept with all sorts of fish, and they are not nearly aggressive as their reputation.
The important thing is that you are aware that yours at 5 inches is still a baby, and your pleco, pictus and Koi are all babies too if they all fit into this tank, and also that Pacu's grow to over 2 feet. The problem is about how many huge size fish are being stuffed into a relatively small tank - I know it's working right now, but it won't last forever.
Good luck however you choose to keep them.

i also have a 55 gallon tank with an oscar in it, about 9", i also have a jack dempsey, 6", an albino chiclid,5"and 2 pleco's, one about 12" and one about 7".they have shared this tank for about 1 year with no major problems. the oscar gets a little aggressive once in awhile, but never actually hurts the other fish.

Sometimes the oscars will go ok with other fish, sometimes not. If you're feeding them a lot of feeder fish, they will tend to be more aggressive and might kill the other fish. If you don't feed them a lot of feeder fish and instead feed them blood worms or something like that, they won't be as aggresive.

The Paku might work out in there, but might not. My friend had one with his oscars and had to get rid of it because it was freaked out all the time. He has lots of fish in with his oscars and they do fine. I have another friend that has other fish with his oscars as well, and they don't bother the other fish either. It is best to have other aggressive fish in with them. If you do get the paku, give it a few days and if it doesn't work out, get rid of the paku.

Oscars tend to be aggressive, and they are predators. They can do quite nicely in a mixed tank IF the other residents are large enough to take care of themselves.

I have 3 oscars in a 120gallon with a long nose gar, a black clown knife and a pleco and have had no major problems with fighting. the worst that happens is when i drop feeders in
the oscars will try and steal them out of the gars mouth but other than that i think they kind of mind there own buisness. i just hope that doesent change when i put them in my pond with my 4 peacock bass.

Oscars have a tendency to be aggressive. They are very Territorial. I would consider getting a tank for him only.
