Why is it that when we cannot find the tv remote we refuse to walk up to the tv to turn it on? We spend 5 to 10 minutes trying to find the remote while at the same time...we could have turned the tv on and be sitting on couch. I know there are people out there that are guilty of this.

Personally, the reason I would do that (although I don't really watch much tv) is because I get bored easily and like to channel surf in between commercials. Hard to surf if you have to stand at the TV and flick the channels. Maybe I "could" just leave it on the station it's on, but like I said, I get bored easy and like to check out other programs that might be on. Sometimes, I even flick between two or more shows to keep up with all of them at once. Some shows don't require a lot of attention to get what they're about, so it can be done.
That's just my reason anyway. That, and the fact that if the remote gets lost, it usually stays lost for a long time if I don't figure out where my kids stashed it before too much time has past....such as getting buried in their toy box. If that happens, by the time I get it back it'll probably be broken beyond repair.
Anyway, that's my reason. ;)

so true!
because once you find the remote, you can sit by the couch with no disturbance or trouble of leaving that comfortable spot to change the channels.
because for as long as you don't find the remote control, you're not going to be able to watch TV with an ease of mind.

I am just used to an expesific chanel so It is hard to change chanel by chanel when I am gonna see the #512.
