Has anyone seen how badly the govt manages the services it already has to provide--like postal and medicare? Can you imagine them being in charge of other services and how long the wait would be--and how poorly managed and how awful the recourse for bad service?
Has any of these bleeding hearts socialists consider the real facts?

since when did the federal government services become free. i paid taxes into the government all my life, and never got anything in return.now i'm watching my tax dollars being wasted on all the other countries in the world and to the illegal immigrants who are coming here spounging off all of our resources and taking over all of our work sites because our president says that the american people don't want the jobs.
the american people don't stand a chance anymore.

We are not talking about giving every American person a car or free mansions. We are talking about giving children health care so they can be beneficial to the American workforce. I would think that would be more important than spending trillions of dollars in wars that history has already shown we will not win (not unless we want to turn Iraq into a parking garage). As for were liberals get the idea. Promote the General Welfare. Seems I remember those words in a certain document.

As for the part of keeping it in your pants and shutting legs. Maybe is schools were allowed to teach about contracepton instead of Abstience only maybe you can suppress teenage hormones. Or at lest give our children all the options that are on the table.

I have no idea. My grandparents would have found this idea abhorrent. They saw even taking unemployment as charity and there was no way they would have EVER applied for it. My grandfather painted houses, drove a cab, whatever he could do to make a buck.

As for the postal service. It is the ONLY government program set up by our founding fathers. (i grew up in southeast ohio and got here because President Jefferson appointed my multiple great grandfather who lived in Philly to be Postmaster of this region) The post office was set up to be run as a private company. To this day, it actually makes a profit.

shouldn't the values a society be more important then money. like children going without dental care because there family can't afford it, doesn't that impact negatively on a society as a whole.
you don't take into account the cost of injury's that could be easily treated but go on to become major problems clogging up hospitals.

What a hateful person you must be. I don't see anything wrong in providing assistance for less fortunates -
If we can spend, ( actually borrow from China ) money to kill brown skinned people half way around the world, it seems like our real priorities should be looking after our own citizens. Lets eliminate the Bush tax cuts and adjust our spending priorities -
Grover Norquist and others like him are all about elimenating the social safety nets. Like you, they are social Darwinists, following in Herbert Spencer's footsteps. Have you no shame?

for a country that can spend 200 billion of its taxpayers money on bushes war it would seem like a paltry expectation that all the people of the united states should have medical care,, not forgeetting tthat even if mercas wealthy were to pay fair taxes there arent enough of them it is the poor who foot these bills simply because there are more of them

we've become the society of entitlement.. its our own fault. We've allow people to victimize themselves for so long they dont know how else to act.

in the depression era when 99% of america was on its knees. you had two different types of people. Those that jumped from buildings and those that worked harder Today we need more of the later type.

You make valid points. Politicians make promises in order to try to win votes. Liberals want the government to run everything. Liberals want to run the governmet. They don't care about facts.

social security and medi-care are going bankrupt and experts estimate a health care program would cost 6 times more than those programs combined...

i have considered the facts, little girl. maybe the problem is the managers. you condemn the programs because of inept leadership. hmmmm....i bet that you think bush is doing a great job, though, with his costly war. you can't have it both ways, typical neocon logic. i feels for ya, honey....
