"It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon. In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England , when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down."It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's"Many years ago in England , pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle" is the phrase inspired by this practice. AND FINALLY At least 75% of people who read this will try to lick their elbow!

Wowsers! Did you know that a favourite expletive of the modern age descends from an abbrevaition of medieval times in England? The word F*CK was an abbreviation written of the foreheads of fornicators before they were put in the stocks, it meant Full Understanding of Carnal Knowledge. A huge and punishable sin for non married people in those times! It was abbreviated so even those with no reading skills could learn and see the crime. p.s. Add the capital letters together in the explanation to make the word!

interesting stuff! Speaking of lunar cycles, did you know that mental illness was believed to be influenced by the moon's phases, hence the word lunatic. A label one could easily get for licking one's elbow!

Haha, interesting, though some of them could be more likely myths than facts.
And I DID try to lick my elbow (for the first time), but I think you posted that it's impossible to lick your elbow in part 1/3 not this one, which makes it look like this was copied...

Nooo! Mind your p's and q's came from the printing industry because of the similarity when typesetting the lower case characters.
