I have a crush on my friends best friend. I like her personality and her looks.
I danced with her at homecoming but i'm not sure if she's even interested.
what are some tips in this situation situation?

Friends can be VERY useful in a situation like this, provided you don't think your female friend has eyes for you herself. Hopefully you have a good idea if she already feels something or if you two are truly only friends. (If you don't know, I would suggest holding off until you do. A good test is just mentioning that some Girl X is kind of hot. If she reacts jealously, that is a good sign of liking you.)
If your friend does feel something for you, you may want to reconsider pursuing this other girl and consider if it's worth potentially destroying your friendship. Not only that, but breaking a friend's heart isn't particularly stellar, and this girl's friend that you are interested in, if she's a good friend, will probably not pursue things with you if it hurts your mutual friend.
However, if your friend is cool with it, she can be a great help! She can play "spy" for you, asking around and getting a good idea of this girl's feelings for you. Then she might even help set you two up, (girls usually love to do this!).
If no help is incoming, and you feel safe to proceed, just do it the way you would with any other girl. You can tell your friend you like this girl (who happens to be her friend), and then proceed. (Ask her out, get to know her, etc.)

Hint to your friend that you like her friend. Maybe mention how she looks nice or how you like her smile. Women can get these hints and will talk about it. You can also ask your friend what her best friend looks for in a guy is a foolproof way of saying you are on to her. When you said you are not sure she's even interested is a quick way of losing your chance with her. Think positive. I always say that the only chance you miss is the chance you never take.

I would talk to the friend about it. Say, "I like your friend but I'm not sure she's into me. I don't want to embarrass her or myself by saying it face to face because if she doesn't feel the same way, I still want to be friends. Do you think you could ask her if she feels any kind of connection with me?"
Or if you're feeling really bold, say, to her, "I like you. I really enjoyed dancing with you at homecoming. I feel like we had some real chemistry. If you don't feel the same way, that's okay, but if you do then great. Either way, I hope we can stay friends."

Learn more about your friend's best friend. Talk to your friend about her. Ask her what she likes. Tell your friend that you are interested in her and would like to meet up with her. You can all go out together as friends and approach her from there.

You're in an ideal situation - just ask your friend. Trust me, she'll know whether the girl is interested or not, and she'll be happy to share that info with you, unless she also likes you.

If your friend doesn't have any feelings for you it should not be a problem, she might even be happy for you. Trust in your friendship and just tell her.

stay friends with the girl who's your friends and you don't need to tell her that you like her best mate, maybe you should galk to the best mate first and fid out if the best mate likes you first

be honest first of all and say it like you are saying it to your best boy friend!!!!!!!!!!if she is really your best friend she will understand and if she wants she will help you and speak to her friend about your fillings for her!
