Before I started exercising I weighed 55 kgs. And after 4 weeks of walking at a steady pace on a treadmill at a speed of 5.0 (for an hour), I gained weight! Now I weigh 59 kgs! I've skipped one or two days of exercising sometimes and I count my calories (eating below 1800 calories). What am I doing wrong?! Please help! I'm beginning to think of taking pills (I know it's unhealthy) or giving up:(

Are you sweating enough when you work out. If you don't sweat as much you don't lose as much weight. A very big no no is to eat around or before sleep which would probably add weight more than anything. If your not getting enough sleep your eatting more just by staying up. If your older your metabolism has also slowed down and is much harder to lose the weight. I take a supplement called Phosphatidylserine around 500-1000mg a day and it reduces my hunger, stress, and can improve memory. I take it before bed cause it seems to relax me good and reduce cravings.

You're doing everything right for a healthy lifestyle and a sleek physique. Your program may need a bit of modification - perhaps your caloric intake is still a bit high. The link below will help you establish a calorie count based on your activity level, current weight, height and age.

The one hour on the treadmill is a good time investment for weight loss (and good health) but you have to move fairly fast. You should exercise vigorously enough to increase your heart rate at least 20 beats a minute more than when you rest. Although a treadmill pace of 5.0 mph would be extremely challenging for some people, it may not be high enough for you to really boost your metabolism and work up a sweat. Rather than spend more time exercising, you can increase your speed by taking longer steps or by moving your feet at a faster rate.

If you keep doing what you are doing, just bump up the pace and take down the calorie count a bit more, you will not need pills to get results.

I was highly overweight, tried everything, nothing worked. Reducing diet started giving me other health problems. I then came in contact with a healing centre (www.dkhc.in), everything is just fine now and I eat a lot too. Before taking pills you can think of some natural birth control method, may be it might work; you can know about it from the above address.

you may be adding muscle

and muscle weighs more than fat - and is WAY better for you

need to go to a site that will calculate the amount of
calories you need to consume to MAINTAIN your weight

then reduce by 15% - and you should lose - if you have fat to lose

also look for "burn the fat - feed the muscle"
a great site with Tom Venuto
