There was a flood in a village.

One man said to everyone, "I'll stay! God will save me!"

The flood got higher and a boat came and the man in it said "Come on mate, get in!"

"No" replied the man. God will save me!

The flood got very high now and the man had to stand on the roof of his house.

A helicopter soon came and the man offered him help."

No, God will save me!" he said

Eventually he died by drowning.

He got by the gates of heaven and he said to God "Why didn't you save me?"

God replied, "For goodness sake! I sent a boat and a helicopter. What more do you want!"

I think he was waiting for the Beam up like Elijah got. God never does cool miracles like in the old testament or the ones Jesus did. Its a boring world now-a-days.

Yes it is true that we can be like that sometimes. We pray, God sends an answer but because it is not how we expected it we reject it and we die (spiritually or physically!). We must take the answers as they come in case they are from Him!

I have no dought, the man is foolish.
we have to know that God comes us as in several ways. It may be as rain, as cloud, as animal, as begger and in any way.
Most important thing is, we have to understand what God is, and accept the help.
most of times person's think that God should come as a invisible way, No that is not the way he comes. The god is living with us, we have to find him, he allways lives in our harts not in invisibal place.

This is what practically happens in the life of most of the people. They pray. They get help. But do not recognize it.

1) That's an old one.

2) It does not demonstrate stupidity, but the necessity of doing something for oneself, in addition to faith.
