OCD this is posibly why it effects you this way.
this would also explain the depression when you dont take it.
you probly need an antidepressant like Prozac.
I also have OCD and vicodin dose the same thing to me.
in reality I have an anxiety/stress disorder that the drug helps cover up,

You have probably developed a dependence on it and experience a type of withdrawal when you don't take it. You should tell your doctor about it so that he can prescribe a way to wean you off of it.

You should not continue to take the Vicodin after the pain is gone. The sooner you see your doctor and gradually stop taking the Vicodin the better. The problem will only get worse in time. You may have caught it in time so that it is not a big problem for you.

You are associating the Vicodin with helping your mood.
Vicodin is a pain medication. If you believe you need to be taking something to help your mood, please see a doctor so he/she can prescribe the appropriate medication. Do not continue to take Vicodin to help your mood. Best Wishes

Vicodin is still a pain killer, one of the milder ones, yes, but there are still withdrawals from even the lightest narcotics. You may try an antidepressant to step down the withdrawals then step the dosage down on those until your at none a day.

taking pain pills when there is no physical pain is not a good thing to continue. talk to your dr soon. you may need an anitdepressant for a while to help you. when you get over the withdrawls, start an exercise program to help you feel better. just something simple, like walking or biking.
