Be a vegetarian if you want to loose weight. How many obese vegetarians do you know? Unless they just started, probably not many.

Foods like this:-

Take away foods, ready made processed meals you buy in the supermarket, cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets, alcohol, sugar fizzy drinks. All of these foods are high in saturated fat and sugar. All add to those unwanted pounds.

There is no need to be a vegetarian as long as you eat lean meats (with not fat on at all). No need to cut out carbohydrates either. They are low in fat as long as you don't smother them in butter, cream, sauce etc, (keep them plain and simple). Try brown rice and pasta, they will keep you fuller for longer.

Try to move more. Exercise plays an important part in weight loss too.

Too much of all foods. Everything is fine in moderation but go easy on any food that has empty calories (i.e. junk food - all fat and sugar - no vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein) The easiest thing to do is avoid processed and ready made food. Buy ingredients and cook meals yourself. Grilled chicken, veges and great bread with a glass of wine - simple and so much yummier than junk!

I would cut down on carbs but don't cut them out completely. Stay away from sweets as much as possible. Make foods yourself and if you can't be careful about your food choices when eating out. Just because a salad sounds healthy doesn't mean it is. Wendy's Mandarin Chicken salad has 520 calories.
