i really, really want to find out why people hate man utd so much. is it really jealousy, or is it more than that?
yeah, jealousy has to be there somewhere. i mean, with hate, there always comes a little jealousy. so yeah. :)

well i think there are glory supporters in all good clubs, right?
take chelsea, for example. they never had THAT many fans until roman took over.
but people shouldnt hate man utd because of that.. i mean, its the fans fault, not theirs. man utd cant stop their fans from supporting them, even if they ARE glory supporters, can they?

lol NE[o].. :)) my question is, why do people hate man utd so much? i mean seriously. is there so much to hate? they dont cheat like chelsea, who always say stuff about the referees and bully them.
and ferguson DOES NOT treat his players like crap. OKAY? if he did, they would not be playing as well as they are now. and you cant argue and say stuff like, 'he bought loadsa good players', because he also lets the reserves play. and yeah, now he doesnt really have a choice. but he DID when they played against coventry, and he let them play. and even though they lost 2-NIL, he didnt drop them or anything, did he? he still lets them play. he let the SAME players that lost that match play now, when he has loads of others to choose from. :)

I think more people hate Chelsea now these days (I know I'm glad to see them slip up a little). I think part of the reason people hate the most successful teams (apart from jealousy) is that success breeds success. Man Utd have been a top team since the beginning of the Premiership, therefore they win lots of money to spend on players, the best players want to play for them, so they get better and better etc. Actually I respected Man Utd a lot back when their top players were all homegrown like Giggs, Nevilles, Beckham etc. I think what happened with Chelsea is very damaging to the game, when one team has basically infinite sums of cash and has the potential to have a monopoly on all the best players, and therefore buy titles.
I think it's natural for neutral fans to want the underdog to win. As well, there's the feeling that a lot of big clubs' fans aren't really fans, they've never gone to the ground and they only support the winners - e.g. people all around the world who buy Man Utd shirts because it's the in thing to show you like the Premier League. The result of all that means that to the neutral, a big club like Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal is a lot more "fake" than an unfashionable club like Blackburn, where the impression is that all the fans have some connection to the area, most probably turn up for home games, etc etc.

Cheats, penalty beggars, arrogance, rivals... theres a lot of reasons why I would hate Man Utd. Doesn't mean I lose respect for them and be blind to what they really are. Sure I may throw flames at them but I dont disregard the fact that they are a good football team and they do belong where they are now and did deserve the league last season. The "U Sucks!" from me would never be out of jealousy its more like trash talking, or its because I saw something done which wasn't exactly what I would call fair play and then I say 'u suck' for doin that.
Thats my honest answer for ya. Real Arsenal supporters are never jealous because we know we have a good team that plays beautiful and admirable football. Why should we be jealous of one premiership win since 03? I'm actually happy you won it and took it out of Chelsea's dirty hands. Arsenal was a team for the future then and the future is now. Oh and Arsenal supporters are much less likely to be bandwagonists or glory seekers as u call them.
P.S. M4rky d: As a fellow arsenal fan i must say i dont exactly agree with your reasoning. Yes, many many United supporters are a bit cocky, but Man Utd certainly does not play boring football and if theres ever a time I cant watch Arsenal I'd rather force myself to watch Man utd out the corner of my eyes than watch most of the other game-blocking teams in England. 2nd richest club? so what does that make us a better ball team? I think not

They got the sympathy support after Munich and it has passed down through the families.
Most Mancunians support Man City now.
Lots of other smaller teams are going broke through lack of support as kids are still supporting Utd even if they live 500 miles away and can never get to the games and couldn't even find Manchester on a map.
Football was a local sport that you could all go along to cheer on your local team, it lost it's way.
And a lot of kids support teams when they are winning.
About 10 years ago lots of little kids were going around with Blackburn rovers shirts on as they were top for a season, you don't see too many kids in Blackburn shirts now.

Manchester United are a successful football club and because of this people envy them and their fans.
If United hadn't dominated the premier league since day one there would be far, far, fewer people looking to criticise them.
For as long as we are the most despised club, we will always have a team that wins silverware at the expense of other clubs and their fans.

I hate them for several reasons. First of all i'm a Liverpool fan and thats a very good reason for hating them. Secondly i'm Irish and I was on the anti-Keane side of things in 2002, and that incident gave me a huge hatred for Keane and united. Thirdly I just absolutely hate Fergusson cause he just treats his players like crap.:)

Who says that majority of people hate MU....some (a small portion - yes) But I think by and large MU because of its awesome strength and they play good entertaining football is loved by many - fans as well as non-fans. One cannot just simply generalize you know!

people feel bad about Manutd fans -- Thats because they thing that ManUnited fans are
1) dead crazy
2) devilish & aggressive in nature
3) dont respect other fans
4) usage of abusive words is higher compared ot other blus in europe.
